The benefits of Desmopressin

I often prescribe desmopressin to my patients. Why? Because it has many benefits! It is taken to keep the water in the body and the skin, it allows among others to have to go less often to the toilet. This synthetic medicine flushes small folds on the skin and keeps you healthier. A lack of desmopressin leads to chronic dehydration that will promote many pathologies accompanied by pain and fatigue. An excess of desmopressin or drinking too much water may cause headaches.

Like any medication, there can be side effects, especially if the treatment is not followed correctly. Last week, a patient came to see me about headaches and a red face. The headaches are explained by the fact that some of the treatments favor an imbalance that gives these kinds of side effects. They could also come from taking hydrocortisone without fludrocortisone, the redness may come from an injection of testosterone but is not caused by desmopressin.

If you have any of these side effects, I recommend drinking maximum 2L of water a day with desmopressin. If that does not help, you can always stop the treatment or take it at a lower dose and see if your condition improves.
